A celebratory print of the Universal Sisters, commissioned to mark the launch of Bird Kitchen Clothing in 2019.

Back in October 2019, I made contact with illustrator West Wales screen print artist, Tom Frost.

“Tom,” I said, “I need a really special image to celebrate the launch of Bird. Can you help” I was drawn to Tom’s work because all his work feels – and is – hand made. Just as good food takes skill, time and craft, these are hallmarks also carried by Tom’s work and I felt a cross over.

“Why yes, sure I can,” said Tom and this is what he created.

My reaction?

“I love it,” I said, “This image captures Bird so well – utilitarian in a way and fun at the same time.”

So that was that. Handmade as a paper cut and then transferred to a screen print, Tom made just 50 editions.

And he signed and edited every single one.
