Coronavirus: what can we do?

Coronavirus: what can we do?

These are extraordinary times for us.

Not just here in the UK but globally.  Our thoughts are with our friends working in hospitality world wide who are being impacted by the Corona virus both on a personal and professional level.

From just my tiny experience of being on the team of a West Wales market town cafe, I know that trade is down.  No-one knows what lies ahead.

Hopefully the impact will be short-term.  We can all pull together to support one another in any way we can.

Support groups on Facebook at a community level are a brilliant idea and I've joined one in my local area, not least to provide assistance where we can to elderly folk in our area.

Avoid the stock-pile mentality.  This is hard but key. Supply chains must be allowed to continue as normal to ensure everyone is served with what they need.

Buy from your local businesses as much as you can. This is a really tough time for trading.

Yes - wash your hands, you know the drill.

And check out this link for the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan released this week, to help support SME businesses survive during this time. If you run a business, check out the advice. And if you know someone who runs a business, pass it on.

If you have any information to share, please email me at vic@birdkitchenclothing.co.uk and I'll pass it on via Birdfeed.

Take heart.

Vicky.
